چکیده

Ground reaction forces and center of pressure (C of P ) patterns were studied in 17 subjects running a t 4.5 ms-'. The subjects wereclassified as rearfoot o r midfoot strikers according to the location of the C of P at the time of first contact between foot and ground. The C of P path in the rearfoot group showed a continuous anterior movement during support while the C of P in most of the midfoot group migrated posteriorly during the first 20ms of the support phase. Variability in both groups was most marked during early support. The mean peak to peak force components were 3 BW, 1 BW and 0.3 BW in the vertical, anteroposterior and mediolateral directions respectively. Consistent differences between groups were noted in all three components, but individual differences within a given group were also considerable. The C of P patterns are presented in conjunction with ground reaction force data, and the implications of the results in the areas of running mechanics, shoe design and sports injury are discussed.

The Effects of Changing Footstrike Pattern on the Amplitude and Frequency Spectrum of Ground Reaction Forces During Running in Individuals With Pronated Feet

Background: The current study aimed to evaluate the effects of barefoot and shod running with two different styles on ground reaction force-frequency content in recreational runners with low arched feet. Methods: The statistical sample of this research was 13 males with PF (mean±SD age: 26.2±2.8 y; height: 176.1±8.4 cm; weight: 78.3±14.3 kg). A force plate (Bertec, USA) with a sample rate of 1...

مقایسه نیروهای عکس‌العمل زمین و فعالیت الکتریکی عضلات مچ پا طی حرکت دویدن در مردان جوان دارای پرونیشن پا و نرمال

Background and Objective: Due to the disruption of the body’s natural posture because of the loss of interior arch of the foot in people with foot pronation, which may change amount and direction of forces and muscles electrical activity exerted on the foot during running movement, the purpose of this study was to compare ground reaction forces and muscles electrical activity of the ankle...

Comparison of Ground Reaction Force Components during Running with Running Shoes and Control Shoes in Individuals with Genu Varum

Introduction: Running poses an essential role in maintaining cardiovascular health. However, it has been demonstrated that 2.5 to 38 injuries per 1,000 hours of running can occur. The purpose of this study was to investigate ground reaction forces components during running with running shoes compared to control shoes in individuals with genu varum. Methods: This study was laboratory and semi-e...

Immediate effects of femoral external rotational and abductoral taping on ground reaction force characteristics during running

Introduction and aim: Taping is a common method used by athletes to improve muscular function. The aim was to assess the immediate effect of femoral external rotational and abductoral taping on three-dimensional ground reaction force characteristics, their time to peak, impulse, displacement of center of pressure, vertical loading rate, and free moment during stance phase of running. Method: 24...

Relationships between Ground Reaction Forces and Kinematics during Downhill Running in Distance Runners

Vertical impact force during downhill running should be analyzed in terms of risk of injuries caused in hill training of distance runners. In spite that the impact force in running was influenced by some kinematic parameters at the foot contact (Gerritsen et al. 1995), few studies analyzed interactions between ground reaction forces (GRFs) and kinematics during downhill running in detail. The p...
